I will introduce about this news, 「The retirement age for SDF personnel will be gradually raised by two years from 2028.」in this week.
As the Self-Defense Forces are facing a manpower shortage problem, a meeting of relevant cabinet ministers on the treatment of Self-Defense Force personnel and other issues agreed to gradually raise the retirement age for Self-Defense Force personnel by two years each year starting from 2028. For some occupations, such as those in space and cyberspace, the retirement age will be gradually raised to 60 years old.
The meeting also reported results, such as the number of SDF candidates recruited last year increasing for the first time in five years, and the number of mid-career resignations in the four months from December last year decreasing compared to the same period the year before. Meanwhile, the fulfillment rate for all SDF personnel was 89%, falling below 90% for the first time in 25 years, since the end of fiscal 1999. The Ministry of Defense stated that because peak recruitment periods are from April to August, the impact of the basic policy is still limited, and that it will continue to implement measures based on the policy.
Many members of the Self-Defense Forces will retire at 55 or 56 years old. Being a member of the Self-Defense Forces seems like a tough job, but if the retirement age is raised by about two years, there will be less worry about health and physical strength. Adjusting the retirement age depending on the job seems like a good idea.

I was surpised to learn that many SDF members retire at the age of 55 or 56. I think it was a good idea to extend the retirement age based on an individual's health.
返信削除I didn't know that Self-Defense Forces are facing a manpower shortage problem so I think this is very good to solve this problem.
